"If you really want to make your Halloween Party or Halloween display for trick-or-treat the talk of the graveyard, you can fill your cemetery with inexpensive, easy-to-make headstones handcrafted by you! You can Make an entire graveyard of Halloween headstones for the cost of one store-bought headstone!Step 1) Call your local home center (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) and ask if they carry sheets of styrofoam insulation. Even within the same franchise, some will and some will not. Half od our local Home Depots have it. Just call around.Step 2) Get a kitchen knife and safely stow it in your car. You'll see why in a moment.Step 3) Go to the store that stocks the styrofoam sheets.Step 4) At the store, before you head over to get the insulation, grab a can or two of FLAT BLACK spray paint.Step 5) The styrofoam will most likely be in many shapes and sizes. The larger, the less expensive. ALso be sure to pick out the thicker sheets as they look more like real headstones. The big sheets can be cut down to fir in your car in the parking lot. You may also want to get a few thin sheets of styrofoam to make into small bricks or adornments to tack onto the main headstones.Step 6) Saw the styrofoam into a few pieces if you cannot get it into your vehicle.

Just trace your patterns out on the plastic. Use a serrated kitchen knife or a box cutter to cut out your headstone. Please exercise caution while cutting. Cut away from your body and never hold the insulation from underneath where you might accidentally cut yourself.Step 8) You may choose (optional) to cut in a few cracks or even break off small pieces of the styrofoam to age your creepy tombstone. Step 9) Another optional item: If you brought home some thin sheets of styrofoam, cut out little squares (bricks) or stones and then place them onto the larger thick tombstone.
